Day Out Of Days
Garcia Street Books and The Inn and Spa at Loretto are pleased to announce an addition to the Meet the Author Series. Former Santa Fe resident, Sam Shepard, playwright, actor and fiction writer, will read from his new short story collection, Day Out Of Days.
Sam Shepard is the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of more than forty-five plays. As an actor, he has appeared in more than thirty films, and received an Oscar nomination in 1984 for The Right Stuff. He was a finalist for the W.H. Smith Literary Award for his story collection Great Dream of Heaven. He lives in New York and Kentucky.
Reservations are not required, but seating is limited and will be based on a first come first served. There will be a cash bar, free valet parking, and no charge for admittance.

Prairie Dogs: Communication and Community in an Animal Society
WildEarth Guardians, PDAWG, Prairie Dog Advocacy Group, and PNE, People for Native Ecosystems are pleased to sponsor a presentation by Dr. Slobodchikoff, Professor of Biology at Northern Arizona University, and internationally renowned authority on prairie dogs. These animals are now being threatened by eradication, habitat loss, and the loss of genetic diversity. The author hopes that this book, Prairie Dogs, will help pull the animal back from extinction.

Garcia Street Books will donate a portion of the proceeds to the non-profit Feminist art organization, Through the Flower.
